DarcieDee Designs brings new life to your old T-shirts. If you are
like most active people, you have a pile of treasured old T-shirts you
just can't bear to throw away. DarcieDee is here to turn your old
clothes into lasting memories in the form of a T-shirt Blanket. Send
DarcieDee your T-shirts, sweatshirts and jerseys from school,
sports, vacation, hobbies or a combination of all of these, along with
an order form and she will take care of the rest.
How they are made:
DarcieDee Designs will take your T-shirts, cut them to 11 X 11
squares (when sewn together 10 X 10), put together a layout*, sew
squares together with any color fleece backing you want. Then use 100%
cotton fabric for the border around the sides of the blanket.
*You can have as much say in the layout as you wish. DarcieDee will try
to make the layout work by color, and by the shirt squares that go
together (front & back etc). Also you pick the color/colors of
fleece you want for the back. You can also choose to put a row a fleece
in between your T-shirts rows. This works nice for Blankets with less
T-shirts. See Pictures.
DarcieDee makes these blankets herself with the help of her sewing
machine. No factory or mass production of this product. Your T-shirt
Blanket will be one of a kind with only your memories.

The fleece advantage:
A reinforced backing is fused to each T-shirt Square, which gives
the T-shirt form, however, this adds a little weight to the blanket. So
using fleece on the back makes it cozy, warm and lighter. Otherwise
depending on how many T-shirts you have the Blanket can get pretty
heavy.

Your logos:
DarcieDee does her best to keep all of the importance of your
T-shirt Logos. However, some logos are just too big, so some of the
design may be cut off, depending on the size of the logo. However,
important names and dates are normally placed within the square if they
get cut off, with the help of Stitch Witchery®

Stitch Witchery®:
Putting 2 or 3 pocket logos in one square is no problem for a little
extra charge. Stitch Witchery® helps keep the logo in place to make
sewing around the outside of the logo easier. See Pictures.
Stitch Witchery® will also be used if the logo is too big for the
square. For example if a Name or Date gets cut off DarcieDee will try
to place it within the square with the help of Stitch Witchery®. See Pictures.

How to prepare your shirts for shipping:
1. Wash them please. Stains, holes or
irregularities are left alone - imperfections add character and make it
even more unique.
2. Label them "front", "back", or "both" so I will
know what you want for the blanket. Otherwise I will try to use all of
the logos you send me.
3. Don't cut them in advance. If they are pre-cut contact DarcieDee and we will work something out.
4. Ship your T-shirts along with the printable Order Form
and a check/money order payable to Darcie Bender of the amount of $100.
Your $100 deposit goes toward the cost of supplies and is taken off
your total when the blanket is complete.

Cost and Quotes:
I feel that since these blankets are unique for you, there should
not be a set number of shirts you can send me. However, according to
standard comforter sizes I will cap it out at 100 logos. So my price is
$8 per square. This price
per square includes the materials, and the shipping of the finished
product back to you. If you want fleece rows between your T-shirt rows
it will be $4 per row, and any "Stitch Witchery®" will be $2 per
logo. After you send me your shirts and $100 deposit, I can take a look
at your T-shirts and send you a quote. Once you have a quote you will
have your Blanket in less than 4 - 6 weeks after final payment is
received. If you need the blanket faster there may be an additional
charge depending on how fast you need it. If you have any questions

My Favorite Size:
I really like the 5 X 5 (25 square) blankets with the fleece rows in
between. They are a nice size for a couch or to lay on top of your bed. Price is be $216 (with no Stitch Witchery®).
